Doctors urge woman to learn how to screen themselves for cancer while they are at home and to have their doctor do it on a yearly basis. Not only will these screenings help to catch it early on – but you can also look for the signs that you might have breast cancer.

There are some women who will not have any problems – but may only notice a mass in her breast. Keep in mind that just because you have a mass does not necessarily mean that you have breast cancer. The majority of masses found in breasts are not cancerous.

There are some masses that are just scar tissue or cysts caused by normal changes in your breasts due to aging or hormones. However it is still important that you make an appointment with your doctor to have them check it out and confirm what it is.
